The First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield has a very active music ministry program, offering members of all ages a variety of opportunities to participate. In addition to the organized choirs, there are opportunities throughout the year for individuals to share their instrumental and/or vocal musical talents during worship services. Periodically, a special Festival Choir unites members of the Chancel Choir with interested members of the community for a limited period of time to perform major sacred choral works with orchestra.
Chancel Choir
This adult choir leads music worship weekly throughout the school year (September to early June) during the Sunday Traditional service. The Choir sings a variety of music, including sacred choral music and contemporary pieces. This volunteer choir is open to everyone!
(Scheduled rehearsals on Wednesday evenings)
Youth Choir
Children, grade one through high school, can participate in youth choirs, which lead in worship, through music, on several Sundays throughout the school year.
Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir performs a variety of musical literature. Choir members utilize five octaves of handbells. Newcomers who have an interest in handbells, and some experience in reading music, are invited to join.
(Scheduled rehearsals on Wednesday evenings)
