Join us as we participate in experiences designed to help us develop our individual faith and build upon our relationship with Christ. We are determining what we believe and understanding how our faith in God plays a role in our daily lives.
Teenagers are frequently faced with difficult decisions. We seek to provide you with a foundation for making good choices through faith, study, spiritual growth, fellowship, support and by modeling the behavior we hope you will choose. For many, these friendships and values are one of the most important parts of the high school experience.
Events and activities throughout the year give you a variety of opportunities to express your faith, as well as share in fellowship and fun. A fall retreat, Thanksgiving football game (vs. the returning college students), and ski trip, are just a few of the social events held during the year. Fellowship is also a major component of our fundraising activities which include: wreath sales, a rummage sale and church dinners.
Our Bible study for senior high youth has three areas of focus. Youth Alive, our Sunday morning Bible study at 9:45, offers a unique internet-based class where we discuss current issues and how they reflect the world we live in. Our popular TNT (Tuesday Nights Together) includes dinner, Bible study and music. By sharing a meal, you have a chance to get to know each other in a relaxed setting and following dinner, attend a faith-building class. Our Sunday evening Bible study, SOS, is one of our most popular Bible studies--with a unique twist: each Bible study is held in a different location, which is directly related to the topic being studied. During the summer, our Bible study program offers faith exploration through thematic Bible study in informal settings followed by a cookout at someone's home.
Service to others is an important aspect of the senior high experience. Senior high youth have many opportunities to participate in a range of mission services, both locally and internationally. Programs such as vocal or instrumental solos in worship services, singing in the choir, PADs, Habitat for Humanity, cleaning days at church, helping with Christmas outreach, and other activities are part of our mission focus.
The final event of our year is the annual Senior High Mission Trip. It is the culmination of many hours of Bible study, fellowship and fun. It is one of our church's most exciting faith-building traditions.
Mission experiences provide you with the opportunity to challenge your faith and reflect on it, while reaching out to and working with God's people outside our faith community.
